aiônios, is there, I agree on that, here is a quote that I found interesting:
"The original word – αἰώνιον – is employed in the New Testament 66 times. Of these, in 51 instances it is used of the happiness of the righteous; in two, of God’s existence; in six, of the church and the Messiah’s kingdom; and in the remaining seven, of the future punishment of the wicked. If in these seven instances we attach to the word the idea of limited duration, consistency requires that the same idea of limited duration should be given it in the 51 cases of its application to the future glory of the righteous, and the two instances of its application to God’s existence, and the six eases of its appropriation to the future reign of the Messiah and the glory and perpetuity of the church. But no one will presume to deny that in these instances it denotes unlimited duration, and therefore, in accordance with the sound laws of interpretation and of language itself, the same sense of unlimited duration must be given it when used of future punishment. "
If this is the case, then why do people only doubt the 7 instances of eternity which relate to hell?
Smilers good to see your smiling face again.
The study of the noun aion, upon which the adjective aionios is firmly rooted, is an eye opening exercise. I am pleased you have begun to look into it. Aion most assuredly can be demonstrated te be age related, and is in fact in plural form on numerous occasions. There is a rule in koine Greek, as it is in every language to which I am familiar, the adjective cannot hold greater dimension than the noun upon which it stands. If aion means without beginning and ending then so stands aionios. But aionios is defined by the Master of the universe as quality.
Quote:
This is zoe aionios that we may know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You did send.
Correct! This nonbiblical belief makes people "feel good".
Hi there Lover (of N. C.). The only thing that makes me "feel good" is the breast I have laid my weary head upon for over a jubilee cycle. And listening to that Beating Heart has awakened something that cannot be placed into words, for it exceeds an aionios weight of glory excessively.

OK, let's try applying that rule.
Isaiah 61
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. 4 And they shall build theevelasting [olam, aionios LXX] wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
So Jesus came to repair the "everlasting" wastes which are the result of sin.
I notice that none of the translators applied the above rule to this passage or similar ones. Here they translate as "old" instead of "everlasting".
What would make me feel great and shout for joy is if everyone would accept Jesus as their Savior now, while there is still time.
Lover (of N.C.) it would indeed be a wonderful place here on planet Earth if everyone walked in the Man from the glory. However, the purpose of our God is first and foremost the gathering of the elect first-fruits of His love, and grace, and glory, followed by the rest of the harvest.
And, lest you think we are running out of time consider this....
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Quote:
For by Him everybody and everything were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—everybody and everything have been created through Him and for Him. He is before everybody and everything, and in Him everybody and everything is held together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everybody and everything. For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile everybody and everything to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, everybody and everything on earth or in heaven.
And, lest you think we are running out of time consider this....
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
I agree with this verse, but I also know we are running out of time, because He is coming again, just as He said He would and everyone is not going to be ready, and this to me is very sad.
