I believe the more accurate translation is "reign" of heaven. It's not a place but more of an experience. "The kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy." That is what is manifested in our lives when we are being ruled/reigned by God who is love.
In other words, love as your heavenly Father loves, and you will experience righteousness, peace and joy.
Could someone please tell me what the kingdom of heaven is?
KJV Matt 6: 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
It is God's rulership that now exists in the heavens and will one day be the only rulership on earth as well.

Jesus told us to seek it, he said it is within us, he said for us to call upon it for it to come.
The hard part is believing it is within, to be converted into it and enter to the experience of it within, we have to become like little children.

It's the means by which God, through Christ, accomplishes that which people pray for in the Our Father prayer...Matthew 6:10, "Let your kingdom come let your will take place as in heaven also on the earth."
Daniel prophesied about the coming of the kingdom in Daniel 7:13,14,
“I kept watching in the visions of the night, and look! with the clouds of the heavens, someone like a son of man was coming; and he gained access to the Ancient of Days, and they brought him up close before that One. 14 And to him there were given rulership, honor, and a kingdom, that the peoples, nations, and language groups should all serve him. His rulership is an everlasting rulership that will not pass away, and his kingdom will not be destroyed."
and Daniel 2:44,
“In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever..."
The works that Jesus did were a glimpse of what that kingdom will accomplish. And, when people say it means righteousness, peace, joy the kingdom will bring that and much more.
Jesus himself said in Matthew 24:14, "And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."
KJV Matt 6: 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Yes, and Jesus did Not teach us to pray to be ' taken away ' to the kingdom, or pray to be ' taken up ' to the kingdom
Our Heavenly Father is not residing in kingdom and we do Not pray 'thy heaven come'.
According to Scripture God's will [ purpose ] for heaven is all good conditions.
No one is sick in heaven, there is No pollution in heaven, there is No violence in heaven and No one dies in heaven.
So, since we pray that God's will be done here on earth as it is in heaven, then we are praying for those same wonderful good conditions to exist right here on earth as those good conditions exist in heaven.
Only Jesus, as king of God's 1000-year kingdom, can usher in those good conditions on a global scale among men of goodwill.- Isaiah chapter 35
Was God's kingdom government [ Daniel 2 v 44 ] within the Pharisees? - Luke 17 vs 20,21
Wasn't Jesus addressing the Pharisees in verses 20 and 21 ?______
It was Not until verse 22 that Jesus next addresses his disciples.
Didn't Jesus make sure his disciples understood that the kingdom would Not be immediate or instant at Luke 19 vs 11-15?
What is found ' within ' a person according to Jeremiah 17 v 9 ?________
Yes, Anonymous_113, it's an important thing to know, as Jesus tells us to seek it first!
Like Jesus also said, it's within us. It's nowhere in a visible way. The Kingdom of Heaven is within you, when the Holy Spirit of God is ruling in your heart/mind. That is possible, when you have asked and accepted Jesus to be your Master, and you wish to live according to His will.
The Holy Spirit will enter your being, and transforms your mind: your thinking and, correspondingly, your actions will be guided by the Spirit of the Lord. You are no more reasoning things with your own carnal mind, but you are enlightened by the Spirit, who tells you the righteous way. It's the mind of Jesus, which is now your mind, too. Jesus is (the Kingdom of) God. God is a Spirit. When His Spirit takes over, you are in the Kingdom.
Jesus ruling, reigning in you, you are looking to please God only. Just like Jesus did/does. You are holy = separate of world. Jesus said, "I'm one with my Father; I only do things He tells me to do." And so will it be with you, my friend. God bless you.
Matt. 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
