Just glancing at the Upper East Side tracts, appears to be roughly similar to lakefront Chicago. There seem to be slightly more Hispanics than in prime Chicago tracts, but the same small number of blacks. Asians seem to be about the same.

I never said the Upper East Side was diverse. For all I know, it's no more diverse than the lakefront tracts.
But you are cherry picking those areas and act as if they are representative of the whole city. My point is in any city, be it NYC, LA, etc, there will be small areas and even census tracts that are very homogenous. That doesn't represent the whole city or tell the whole story. You are exactly doing that. I could say Edison Park in Chicago is super homogenous, or that the southside is very segregatesd, but that is not the whole story. There is A LOT more to Chicago than those areas, and there is alot more to Chicago than the census tracts that you are talking about. So ok, those census tracts are 90% white, that doesn't mean that the rest of the city follows a similar pattern.

I provided stats for like 20 neighborhoods representative of a population close to 1 million and you argue with a small sliver of population in that census tract? Give me a break. Not even you can argue on how ridiculous that is.

Here's some statistics from Lakeview via Census tract:

So where is he getting that they are 90% are White, cause according to your numbers it would be impossible.

Yeah, and that's all North Lakeview, north of Belmont, which everyone knows is less gentrified and more diverse, as you bleed into Uptown. There are still SROs and subsidized housing up there.

Lakeview was basically the same as Uptown 30 years ago. Then it gentrified, but you still see the pre-gentrified feel in certain portions north of Belmont, and especially up by the cemetery and Irving Park Rd.

Can you provide that stats for the census tracts you were talking about?

Uh, no, Irving Park Road does not qualify as "prime North Side lakefront". I was obviously referring to Gold Coast, Lincoln Park and environs.

They aren't all from where you're talking about and I wouldn't say that area is not gentrified. It is for sure. That area of Uptown is right near Buena Park which is not exactly slumming it. Buena Park is nice. Most of these are in the area between about Addison and Irving Park Rd near the lake, which is what I was talking about with Lakeview East being more diverse than other areas.

Ok. Can your provide that stats you saw though. Not saying you are lying I would just like to see them. I think it's fair to ask since we have been providing stats.

Also, you said yourself, you were including Lakeview when you were talking about it....

What stats are you talking about? They were just posted.

Irving Park Road/Buena Park area is diverse. I never even knew that was considered Lakeview by most people. To me, once you get to the cemetery, you aren't really in Lakeview.
