Not any that I know of that are not way overpriced in Wicker Park itself. If you go a few blocks out of the area there are a few places that are pretty decent and light on the wallet like Odge's 730 N Damen Ave. I am not sure on the hours so call (312) 666-7335 for them.

Here in the burbs we have portillo's which are pretty darn good too.
I'm glad to see you mention this one, gardener34. I would go there just for the fries.

Until I moved to the Carolinas, I was a suburban girl. Lived not far from Superdawg on Milwaukee and loved it, but also enjoyed the dogs at Portillo's as well as a place in Des Plaines I can't think of the name of.

Hot dogs are one of the things I'm looking forward to getting my fill of while I'm up here visiting, so reading this thread has me makign a list of places to check out. Also in need of some good bratwurst. I NEVER find that anywhere.

They have good fries but since they don't allow ketchup and the McDonalds charges for packets of ketchup I have to eat them plain.

There is a new place, that does the hot dog right, on Chicago Ave. and Ashland Ave. called Rockstar Dog. Thumbs up! Good fries too.

I'm also going with SuperDawg's. Fat, juicy, all-beef... and that bright green relish rocks...

And I agree with K3200N about their shakes, too. Their vanilla malt was a life-altering experience for me.

At the request of AvengerFire, I am putting in a nod for 35 st. Red Hots. While it may not be one of the best hot dogs in all of Chicagoland, it is still pretty good. On game days, you can usually follow the smell (and the crowd!) west of the park on 35th st. and arrive at the little stand. Good stuff!
