I purchased a Quartermaine w/o the garage but getting 700 sqft basement. I'm meeting with Guardian next week to discuss where to put cable, phone etc... I also upgraded and got the fireplace where I'm going to place a TV above.
Any recommendation or advice before I meet with these guys?
Thanks again guys.
Thanks. I'm also thinking of adding the glass break detector in the basement. I will be getting a basement door with window and three sets of windows next to that.
I think that might be a good upgrade.
Well, I figured in a gated community, I'd rather have 700 more sqft to add a full bath
a nice size 4th bedroom and a rec. room with storage. That will bring our unit size to
almost 2500. Plus, no offense to the people that got the single car garages, they are just a little too small for our suv. I think most people will eventually use them as storage, which is also great.
I totally agree about the 1 car garages (again no offense). I went with a 2 car garage floor plan at a much higher price point almost entirely because of the 2 car garage. I am happy overall with the price given the size, the floor plan, and the location but I wonder why they don't offer more floor plans with 2-car garages.
Just wondering--would those of you who have purchased in Park South Station, or who are thinking of it, mind sharing your approximate demographics? Thirties with children? Fifties and single? Sixties and retired? Thanks!
My husband and I are both 65, recently retired, downsizing, and moving from Raleigh to Charlotte where one of our daughters and two grandchildren live. We have purchased a Gladstone townhome and thought we would be moving in April, but it seems that nothing has been started on the lot we purchased. We wanted the master downstairs-hence the Gladstone. Added the loft and some upgrades. Also have a place at the beach so plan to split our time between both homes. Didn't want to be in a retirement community and loved the location, proximity to the light rail, amenities, and mixed community demographics. Anyone else purchased this model? Any news on when these might be started?

There are 12 pages full of comments about the Park South Station, Ryan home properties. I am not trying to promote a sale but this is an honest reply.
As of yesterday they haber sold more than 100 properties and it will become a great location in maximum two years. Being a new community it appears that it is not going anywhere, but think about this. They are going to put a bus stop accross the gates connecting to train to down twon. Even though the market is flat they are selling 10 to 15 unit a month. They sold 16 in January which is considering slowest month for housing market. By the March they will be selling lot more. The club house is looking great and prices will start going up. It will be a great investment if you plan to stay there five years from now. Now South Blvd and Archdale area is changing and rewamping due to train line. Also, there are other new communities are comming in next three year, near this one so if you invest now then you will have lot to look forward to.
Yes, the development has some very positive points. My husband and I are retired and in our late fifties --trying to see if there would be some folks like us there, or whether the vast majority of buyers were young whippersnappers! I appreciate the posts of "free at last" and "southside 704" and hope to hear from some other folks--
