Only thing I would say is that they do have a better bakery than HT. But the bakery and deli at EF/WF is tons better IMO.
Maybe when they open the one at the Arboretum will I change my mind.
Well you're right - back in the day there was Pantry Pride, Winn Dixie, and Publix. Publix was definitely a level above the other two.
The one on York Road is also across from a Teeter.
We started going to a Publix recently and we love it. Now they're going to take over the BiLo that's closer to us - and we can't wait. The Teeter needs better competition around here.
I wonder why it will take so long for the Bilo remodels to open.
Wow! That's a really good question. The ones near me will open in late 2014 and mid 2015! The 400,000 square foot outlet mall will be finished and open before these stores!

They're most likely gutting the entire store, starting over, putting in their own operating systems, refrigeration system, etc., after removing all the old. These things can take a good, long while.
I went to the Bi Lo's closing sale on Weddington road and it's going to take a lot of work to get it to Publix standards. I can imagine having to do that to all the stores at once would take time. Good boost for the local contractors/sub contractors though.
I was wondering too about how long some of the remodels will take. I think another factor is that a store opening is a pretty big deal logistically and they may not be able to open too many stores simultaneously, so they have to stagger them bit.
The BiLo on Weddington Rd at McKee Farms is such a nice looking, new store on the outside, but nothing to offer inside. Publix will fit in well at this location. Plus it's directly across from an old, run down Teeter with horrible parking. Publix is sure to dominate.

Yep, that area needs more and Publix will definitely dominate.
