The Lakers who are having one of the worst seasons in their history go into San Antonio and beat the World Champions. On any given night in the NBA. #Compete

I'm always puzzled how at the end of regulation Kobe takes a horrible shot with 2 hands in his face fading away at the baseline from 18 feet with 2 guys at the arc standing wide open.....then turns around and hands out 3 assists (granted he took 3 shots too, missing them all) in OT.
I normally don't get too worked up over regular season losses, but I simply CAN'T STAND losing to the Lakers! I really wanted a season sweep of those bastards.
Combine this loss with recent losses to Jazz and Nets and we've hit bit of a slump. Not a huge deal in December, but looking at how GSW, Houston, and other west teams are starting out, I can't pretend it doesn't make me a little nervous.

Kobe has made a lot of big shots throughout his career so he is still in the mind set that he can shoot and score in those situations. He still has a lot of confidence in his abilities. Which can be a good or a bad thing on any given night. Obviously those years when he was at the top of his game are well behind him. Last night he eventually made some good decisions in OT, dishing the rock to Hill (twice) and Boozer for better shots for the Lakers. That helped secure the win and was a big one for the 7-16 Lakers.

Agree 100%.
Older players get tired legs in the 4th. (evidence Ginobli's FT's last night at game end)
Kobe has struggled with this as both his abiities and the quality of team around him have diminished in recent years.
IMO the big reason why is the burning competitive fire he has. /tips hat
That's why I have a bi-polar opinion of Kobe at times. In his entirety, he's IMO #2 SG of all-time....but at some parts of his career he's played below his capability. (Kinda like Jordan thinking he can golf with the studs and not back down.)
