That guy is neither Indian NOR Turkish. He's just a guy with a beard - and a Southern accent.
He is, in fact, the father of the BLONDE WHITE bride.
Sheesh! This is why profiling is so bad. White bigots can't really tell one brown from another, or even who is really brown
Bigots, phobe, haters, ..the usual conversation enders. Looks like Volvo went out of their way on this one with the ambiguous beard. Clear as a bell what they are trying to get across.
Whether you understand the ad or not...the commercial did it's job. It captured an audience and got you talking about Volvos.
That's exactly what it didn't do. We are talking about Turkish guys, brides, wedding bands, blonde driver, or is it blonde bride. Volvo? There was a car in that commercial?

He could be Turkish, but definitely has traits from the turkish or caucuses. I do not see how that is bigoted or even profiling. Do you even know what those two terms mean?
Then you go on to make a blanket and bigoted statement about white people...hypocrite.
At least I knew where they were going with the ad.
I think these are actually some of Volvo's better ads in a while, now that I watched them a few times.
If you've never seen the old Volvo "Survivors" ad from 1993, it's worth watching. You can find it on YouTube. It was tremendously successful and was very highly regarded among ad people with good reason. It doesn't show any cars, and it doesn't even advertise the brand until the very end.

Well you did choose to talk about this commercial on the automotive forum, and not the TV or wedding forum...
