I'm looking to get a new coupe now that I hit 40/mid life crisis.
Lexus RC 350 intrigues me somewhat but I can't stand the Nike Swoop LED. Most people hate the grill, but its the Nike Swoop that I think is pretty hideous. They should have kept it inside the headlight assembly like they did with my wife's RX 350.
I'm waiting for the redesigned 2017 Infinity q60 coupe, it looks sexy as hell to me.
Audi's A5/S5 look sexy too, and they can be had certified pretty cheaply in my area, but I'm not sure about Audi reliability.
Being out of service two weekends in five years never happens with my infiniti and lwxuses.. They have set your standards too low...
My last car had 143k and unknown maintenance on it when I got it, and it went to 185k before I sold it. I think two weekends during that time, considering how it may have been treated before i got it, is pretty good. for any car. I'd rather have two weekends down in a five year period than be bored to tears with an ugly car. Which is why I think it's YOU that have set your sights too low, placing boring above all else.
And like I said, my current car is 15 years old with 150k on it. If it treats me as good as the last one, I'll be quite happy, 'cause it's a blast to drive and it looks great.
I've had cheap old Japanese cars that nickle and dimed me to death. Won't put up with that for boring.
Understated design is exaclty why I DONT like Lexus. BMW 5 series is my current dream car (out of my price range) and I am trying to talk the wife into a BMW 1 series. Never driven either one though. Just love their styling. My mom has a Mercedes C300 which I understand is a "poor man's Benz", but if it is any indication of German handling then sign me up for either the Ben or BMW

I'm not a big fan of luxury brands, but my wife likes them. A while back, got her a C300. While I understand it's a "cheap" Benz, if this is their definition of cheap, I'm a huge fan. The interior is nice, has high-quality materials, has great control layouts, is very quiet. It drives much better than one would think, handles the road extremely well... When I drove that thing, I was sold on Mercedes.
Next one will likely be a CLS, but for now, the C300 is a fantastic machine.
CLA has taken over as the "cheap" Mercedes. Looks good from the outside, but it really does look and feel cheap on the inside. An FWD is fine for a regular car, but not a luxury car. c300 owners can rejoice now.
Waiting for Lexus to re-invent their styling again. That hideous spindle grill just isn't working. But most Japanese cars are pretty ugly these days except maybe the Q50.
KIA and Hyundai look better even though they do steal a lot of styling from others and also having Peter Schreyer as you lead designer doesn't hurt.
I like Audi, Infinity, Cadillac and Jaguar myself. In that order. I don't like Mercedes styling at all. And I like BMW even less. Porche is too small and cramped for me to take seriously.
Mercedes styling is the worst by far of any German brand except for their SL, Mercedes SL is their only worthy and its so expensive but I would buy an SL rest of Mercedes styling is junk even the S class.
