I’m really looking forward to the penalty for Josh Williams.
THAT was pretty epic. That might be the biggest unspoken "F*** you" to NASCAR i've seen in a while.
Be interested to see how far they go with it.. Crewmembers who chase a tire are usually escorted off the property and.. I think they get a 4 race suspension.
Drivers.. Usually aren't subject to that because.. If they can't move the car, what should they do? But.. His car wasn't disabled.
I thought both of last year's Atlanta races were great. This year...a bit of a disappointment. The Cup race didn't seem to have anywhere near the lead changes that I remember from last year. Plus both the truck and xfinty races were disasters. Maybe it's time for traction compound?
And what the heck is up with the length of the caution flags? A 20+ minute caution flag during the xfinity race? Maybe it's just me, but I think as soon as the track is cleared and safe, racing should resume.

Good point! You have 35 professional drivers on the track, does it REALLY take 3-4 laps to "gather it up" after the yellow is displayed, then another 4-5 laps to get the field back in line, prior to throwing the green??

While the term "park it", may be up for debate, what Josh did was classic. Some people, however, just don't have a sense of humor, or so it seems.....

The drives are less the problem, IMO..
You've got to give a lap or two for pitting. And if the service vehicles are dispatched.. It easily takes another 2-3 laps to get them back into position.
Some of them wind up having to drive through the infield to get back into position.
And.. You want those safety vehicles in position.
Of course.. remember that NASCAR has thrown the green with a damn ambulance still on track before.

Josh Williams got a 1 race suspension. He won't drive at COTA.
Harsh. Should have fined him and left it at that.
That being said.. He probably got more exposure for his sponsor than he would in 10 races.
