Jobs...my family lives down there and I want to move home. My family lives in Peachtree City and I'm currently in Manhattan NYC. They want me to quit my job and move down. I would never do that and the companies down there won't match my currently salary.

How is the job market now?

Yeah I'm moving to Atlanta and my salary at my new job is going to be about a fourth of what I was making in NY.

Well for me it would be better public transportation. I would love to always be between a 5 to 8 block radius of a Marta station. I would also like commuter rail. I would love to be able to drive to a commuter station from the suburbs and take a train to Atlanta and then be able to use Marta to get anywhere. I live in an area of NJ where I can be in Manhattan in 15 minutes any time day or night and then use the MTA to navigate NY. I would love to have this in Atlanta. However I also understand that if we had that the COL wouldn't be so low. You get what you pay for. I'd also like to see more infill and density. This is just me. I appreciate Atlanta for what it is. It is my home. I understand it was built up during the car era. This is one reason why I don't particularly care for other sun belt cities such as LA. However, since we're wishing.....

An urban growth boundary. It's positively sickening to watch my beautiful native Georgia countryside be torn up so some unfortunate developer can carve out another vinyl-sided neighborhood that will be the hood in 10 years.

I thought about that as I posted it, but until the state legislature changes, nothing else much well. Are you aware that over 50 percent of revenues into the state come from Metro Atlanta, but only about 35 percent is spent in metro Atlanta? That GA DOT generally spends its revenues evenly across the state -- that is why rural GA has so many empty, but newish and well maintained, highways. Pathetic.
