So, are you referring to this current cold front regarding snowfall? I know my buddy posted lots of deep snow photos from BHam this winter. He's up a bit above the flood plain. So, at least his immediate property missed that aspect. This was from earlier this winter. I would imagine its not that uncommon there to get a good dumping or several like this annually.

This is going on between La Grande and Pendleton on I-84:
My Columbia Basin

1h ·
FREEWAY CLOSURE (updates will be added to this post as we receive them)

Update from ODOT as of 2:02pm
I-84 is closed eastbound and westbound between Exit 265 (La Grande) and Exit 216 (six miles east of Pendleton) due to multiple vehicle crashes near milepost 230. This is expected to be an extended closure lasting through the evening for westbound freeway and at least several hours for eastbound freeway. The westbound freeway is also closed to trucks in Ontario due to limited truck parking in Baker City and La Grande. OR 204 (Tollgate Highway) and OR 245 are also closed to all but local traffic. These are not viable detour routes for freeway traffic.

Geez, what a mess! DH love your regular commentaries and pix on western WA weather, keeps me in the know and helps us learn about the winter weather there! We are still trying to decide on areas best for our retirement relo, which is narrowed down to Thurston (favorite) or Clark (more practical) areas!

Yeah - that's a pretty remarkable mess there!

You're welcome and I'm glad people are participating in it regularly... because although it's not scientific, it is a good way to see snapshots of what the weather is actually like, day after day. I think it is doing a good job so far, of dispelling the myth that Washington is always grey and rainy. It is frequently grey and rainy. That's how we get all our green and tall trees. But there are of nice moments of winter sun each week if you stop and notice them.

And I might add, looking up at that... there may be worse things out there than dreary grey skies.

Yes. Last night's band of snow was from Skagit County south and west. Camano Island got the worst of it but the whole area from Western Skagit south to Everett and out to the islands got around 2-6 inches, depending on location. Bellingham didn't get any this time.

Usually, Bellingham gets snow when areas to the south don't.

It rained most of the day today with some clearing skies at times which I was glad to see after our warmer, dry period last week.

We have about 2" of snow that didn't melt from last night and froze and it snowed about another quarter inch this morning. It's chilly- about 28 degrees and cloudy.

Wow, you got a little snow after all. Old man winter had one more for you. I guess there's always that possibility when the temps drop like this. I also seem to recall you mentioning you're up in elevation a bit from down in the flats closer to Olympia.

Although we didn't snow in Vancouver, you can see some fresh snow in the local hills. So, if you live up in them thar hills, well, you probably got some too.
