Fullness is that (Divinity), Fullness is this (the Self) fullness obtains from fullness.
When the fullness is taken from the Fullness, Fullness alone remains.
OM, may there be peace, peace, peace.
— Isavasya Upanishad.
Treachery, I think, is the most terrible of all crimes, the most dreadful of all evils in this world. Never be treacherous to your family, your neighbors, or your friends. And never be treacherous to your country; those who cannot be faithful to their country cannot be faithful to God.
So remember, it is of utmost importance to be loyal to your country. If you don't like its ideals, give it your blessing and go somewhere else. There is too much lack of patriotism in this country. I don't mean that you should love America with the kind of patriotism that tries to destroy other nations; rather, love America and her ideals so that you may in turn love the
whole world.
Remember, you are living in America for just a little while; in other incarnations you may live in other countries. If everyone first loves his own country and then expands that love to include all other countries as his own, there will be no more wars." - Paramahansa Yogananda, from a talk given in Encinitas, CA, May 26, 1940.
Wow, nationalism and spirituality do not align. Strange lecture from a yogi, i am sorry to say.
Wisdom comes from within. Our true nature is the same as Divinity, so our wisdom too is from within. Recognizing wisdom is the same as wisdom. One has to suppress wisdom and happiness consciously, and that is due to ignorance.
An interesting comment I'll have to ponder a bit, since it seems this thread is about bringing words of wisdom from without, or perhaps I'm misunderstanding you again...
Of course it's our level of wisdom that helps us determine what are words of wisdom to consider, regardless from where they come from or from where they are inspired. Or maybe it's my comment and notion about this that you are not understanding too well.
It isn't just from within or just from without wisdom is to be considered in my opinion, but both.
Not sure recognizing wisdom is the same as wisdom, because I know many a person who thinks something is wise that seems quite the opposite, but perhaps that's a topic or discussion for another time in another thread...
“... Everything on earth is of mixed character, like a mingling of sand and sugar.
Be like the wise ant which seizes only the sugar, and leaves the sand untouched.”
In the Gita -
What need is there for all this detailed knowledge, O Arjuna?
Simply know that by one fraction of My Being, I pervade and support this entire creation.

A spiritually illumined soul lives in the world, yet is never contaminated by it. ~ Bhaskarananda
