If you want to learn, read a biology textbook.

Biology already presupposes a survival instinct that mere chemical elements cannot possess. That is why they will never understand the uniqueness of life to mere chemical laws and processes.

pretty much every generation of grandparents or elders expresses that the world is in a terrible state of decline and feels sad about it expressing some variation of "it's never been this bad before." well, their parents and grandparents, and great grandparents and great grandparents said the same thing. at the same time nearly every generation of young adults expresses hope and optimism that they have better solutions and improved ways of living and doing than their parents and grandparents did.

for instance as new parents we are determined to correct the mistakes we saw our parents and grandparents make in raising children. And similarly when our own children grow to be adults they will do the same thing determined to be better parents than they saw us to be.

such is the way of humankind. we each get our turn.
the Creator takes care of us all, and all is well on Earth and in the Heavens. When we carry that in our hearts and minds, there is no burden.

Trees
BY JOYCE KILMER
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
Sharing this lovely imagery and a peaceful poem with all of you in the circle.

Among my culture we have a tradition that has existed for centuries.

Whenever we come together to discuss things of great importance it is always done within the sacred circle. Anyone is welcome to come and sit within the sacred circle and participate in the discussions, however all animosity, hatred and prejudice are left outside of the sacred circle, these things are not allowed within its confines and each individual who steps within the sacred circle is expected to help govern it and be responsible to see to it that peace, harmony, and understanding prevail within the sacred circle.

So now my brothers and sisters, I invite you to step within the sacred circle and tell us about your beliefs or non-beliefs without criticism or animosity to one another.

Remember, all are welcomed here who come with a good heart.
I would like to sit in the sacred circle. I need and I think we all need more places that value peace, love, and kindness. I hope we can help each other experience joy and the divine. I hope we can encourage each other to have open hearts and open minds.

I like what my church website says -- Seeker, Sinner, Flawed, Faithful -- All are welcome, All are forgiven
