Pt, did you know you have a twin on these boards? He is also Tsalagi. Any relation to you?
Well brother redbird, you know the old saying, we all look alike......Oooo I shouldn't say that, a little humor here ,if there is another one of me out there, that could be very interesting if not troubling, can you imagine the trouble that could be.....
Given the number of people on CDF, I would be willing to bet that each of us has a "twin" on board.
I believe you may be right, redbird. I have been told by blueberry (correct me if I'm wrong) in the past that she and I could pass for twins. You just never know...
I may have twins in my beliefs but I wouldn't want anyone to have to see me in their mirror
I wonder if anyone truly has a twin in their beliefs. Some may be similar, but personally, I don't think there are any twins because of our own individual upbringing.
For example, the numerous tribes in North America may have similar beliefs, with some small differences or regional differences, but within each tribe, individuals will vary.
Modern organized religions, such as christianity in Oklahoma has grown like a tree with many branches.
I just don't believe in saying one way of believing is MORE right than another. I, like ptsum, have always been fascinated to learn about other cultures.
The Wiccans seem to identify with certain aspects of Native American beliefs.
There may be those that look like twins, but that's only on the outside and like brother redbird said, inside we are individuals. I know a pair of twins that are very good friends of mine, have known them for over 45 years, they look almost exactly alike, even today and yet one is married and have children and the other one is gay, interesting, and yet if you were to see them side by side you could not tell the difference. Outside appearances can often be deceiving.
I am hoping that since many have looked upon Stonehenge as "pagan", maybe it is on topic within this thread. I am not trying to stir up controversy, more like looking at an ancient belief system which has not completely died out.
It's an interesting article and I find it fascinating that all native cultures have their sacred places that are used for either healing or worshiping or both, the native people of this country even has it's sacred places, so I am not surprised about their findings, but I do wonder what they're going to find out about the other temple, the one known as Woodhenge, which is supposed to be part of an ancient ceremony from one location to the other. It is too bad that there is no written history about this location because it leads to a whole lot of speculation as to its original use.
