I'm surprised that this thread isn't more active. Maybe people just don't want to jinx it! Ha-ha! But I may do so because I see that it's supposed to snow tonight in the metro. Up to 1 inch over night and into the morning. Then some more snow on Sunday. It does say a high of 51 on New Years Eve! That's got to be a record!

I can't remember it being this nice this late! I love it! Even if it dropped down to normal temps and snowed a ton tonight, we are still a month and half ahead of last year (First major snow storm that stayed - Nov. 18 I think?).

We're not nearly out of the woods yet, but January, February and March is a winter I can handle, because to me winter hasn't even started yet!!!

Same here. We've been even warmer in SW Minnesota and now when it gets into the 30's it feels cold! This time last year, 30 would have felt like being in a tropical paradise.
I'm in Missouri this week and its supposed to get into the 60's here the next few days. 50F right now. Very warm for MO. standards even.
The snow that falls in the Twin Cities tonight will be gone by New Years eve with highs in the 50's. Hopefully March will be decent this year, than winter will feel really short.

Yes I agree with the above of Minnesota Spring and quotes from knke that the snow is on the way this weekend here also. 60% chance on Saturday and 70% chance on Sunday. Still it wont be more than a few inches maybe up to three but its still snow.

December of 2011 is allready one for the record books as being one of the driest to date so far.

Winter storm warning out for the Metro area today--about time. 3-5" of snow with high winds--blizzard like conditions from what they are saying. Sounds like it is going to get nasty right around midnight-1 am so that will make for some interesting work for the state patrol tonight. Happy New Year everyone!

The snow was disappointing to wake up to on News Year Day, but kind-of fitting I guess. After 10 minutes of scraping the car in the incredible wind with snow slapping my face, I wanted the snow gone for good again. I don't know how anyone would want that. It was a joke. And I spend half the day shoveling my deck, patio and front steps/sidewalk.

Anyway, cold day today... Hopefully those highs in the 40s and 50s later in the week will melt some of the snow away off of roads, driveways and sidewalks and parking lots.
