The Dems better wake up and see that they are in big trouble.
I don't think Trump appealed to anywhere near 48% of the American people. But a lot of people who didn't care for Trump voted Republican anyway because rioting, looting, and shuttered police departments were even less appealing.

This country is slowly drifting left. For the second presidential election cycle in a row, however, the Dems way overshot the middle and drove a lot of the swayable center to vote Republican, especially in the down-ballot races. This election should have been a blow-out Biden win. It turned out to be a nail biter. If ~40 thousand votes go the other way in a few key states, the Mad Tweeter is back in the White House for another 4 years.

But what's their agenda? They won't want him gone unless there's something in it for them, unless they're just looking to distance themselves politically from him since pretty much all IL Dem leadership is fairly despised by the populace at the moment. I bet they're afraid of another Rauner-esque challenger to ol' JB that could easily knock him off if you tie him to both Madigan and his COVID shenanigans.

Lol. Can’t even give credit where credit is due. Not surprised. Me? I’m quite happy they’re finally taking a stand against villain #1.

With the track record of all of the people calling from his resignation have, one should keep a discerning eye. It's likely they want to install some progressive wacko in place of him.

Which would still be a much better option than Madigan... considering Madigan is the devil reincarnated...

“Much of the discontent with Madigan has come from the sizable Democratic contingent of women in the House. In 2018, the first cracks in Madigan’s wall came as he faced issues regarding sexual harassment in his political and governmental operation. He discarded veteran operatives and acknowledged he needed to do more in the #MeToo era.

It was a signal that despite Madigan’s long-standing ability to adapt politically, he had failed to adjust to issues involving diversity and generational change as he faced a more progressive caucus chafing at the status quo leadership he represents.“

Funny things happen at the last moment. So, I'm waiting to see how many of the 16 that have said they will not vote for him to be speaker, actually do so.
