An experimental aircraft has crashlanded in the Clark Fork River on the Montana side, and the pilot is now at the Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint. The plane apparently floated to the Cabinet Gorge Dam where it has been secured. No word yet on where it came from, or what went wrong.

He was probably headed to the Bird Aviation Center in Sagle. There are a bunch of experimental aircraft pilots that seem to be buddies with Dr. Bird and his folks. Interesting bunch of guys....some cool aircraft...

That sounds likely. And the Bird Museum is such a cool place! I was very fortunate to meet Dr. Bird last year--what an extraordinary, gracious man. Here he is! Forrest Bird - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
and here is the CBS "60 Minutes" story: Forrest Bird, The Birdman of Idaho - 60 Minutes - CBS News

Here's an interesting one from the Spokesman Review:

Idaho
Huckleberries: Takeover plot could bring better menu

By D.F. Oliveria The Spokesman-Review Tags:Bill TurnerBoise Conservative ExaminerDuane HagadoneDustin HurstHoganHuckleberriesMark Warbis
Huckleberries had no idea that, ah, bosom buddies President Barack Obama and Idaho Gov. Butch Otter were scheming to turn Idaho over to the Chinese. Before you laugh, you should consider that no idea is too crazy in Idaho. Remember guns on campus from the 2011 Legislature (which passed the Idaho House before being stopped in the Senate)? Opinionator Bill Turner of the Boise Conservative Examiner claims a deal is in the works between Otter and “B. Hussein Obama” (that should give away Turner’s ideology) to transform Idaho into the first Chinese state in the Union. Turner writes: “Otter and company have named this Project 60. Sounds innocent enough, until you realize that Otter and his minions are afraid to call it what it is, globalization of America and surrender of sovereignty. If it were called that someone may want to charge Otter with sedition.” Don’t know much about Turner other than he’s not one of Idaho’s many tea party legislators. But Huckleberries sees an upside to a Chinese takeover. We Spud Staters are accustomed to heavy-handed, one-party rule. And it’d be nice to get decent Chinese cuisine for a change.

Just so you understand that blogger is a conspiracy theorist nutcase...the fact that he's conservative like the majority of us in Idaho doesn't make him less nutty...

Oh, well, that's good to know. So I take it that the supposed scheme is just a silly rumor with no truth to it?

Here's the actual info:
Project 60 - The State of Idaho

The most red-state legislature in the country reviewed and approved this endeavor...in MY view it's no worse than Microsoft allowing India to do direct investment with Indian nationals working in the computer field. But that's just my take.

Take a look at this proposal and tell me if it looks like a good idea, or trouble ahead!

Local legislators propose redistricting plan - Bonner County Daily Bee: Local News: shawn keough, joyce broadsword, sandpoint, bonner county, priest river
Quote:
State Sens. Shawn Keough and Joyce Broadsword have submitted a legislative redistricting proposal designed to keep the cities of Priest River and Clark Fork intact.
The plan would rope the two cities into District 1 and recognize Oldtown’s common interests with the city of Priest River. It would also coalesce southern Bonner County and northern Kootenai County into District 2.

District 2 currently encompasses Bonner, Kootenai, Shoshone and Benewah counties. Keough and Broadsword contend southern Bonner County and northern Kootenai County have more in common than the other counties.
