Personally, I would love to live in SLO!

Overall I think I get what you’re trying to say and I would tend to agree, but money and race are always those quiet elephants in the room that if people are being honest with themselves, they acknowledge it, whether that be good or bad is up to the individual “sizing them up.”

So accurate and embarrassingly true. You can add these stickers to the list: Let's go Brandon, Trump 2020/2024, FloGrown, Local (upside Florida as the "L"), Joe Biden "I did that" stickers at random gas stations, Don't tread on me, Don't New York my Florida etc.

What do all these eyesores have in common? They further promote division, and an "us" vs "them" mentality that's embraced by those on the right. To lessen your chances of seeing these things, stick to college towns (not the surrounding areas unfortunately) and most of South Florida.

Florida is like going WAY BACK in time when it comes to segregation and diversity (compared to DMV) and you will be very very hard-pressed to find a concentration of upper-class highly educated black families here; they will be scattered and not concentrated in neighborhoods like in DMV. That's b/c the majority of upper class blacks do not come here (except for vacay; they do love the beach in Jan!). They move to places like ATL, NYC, NC Triangle, Dallas, West Coast, etc. Here in Floriduh your child will continue to be the only black kid in the class/group/cohort etc.

I live in one of the most expensive parts of Tampa and there are exactly ZERO black Americans living in this area.

Make several visits before committing to a Florida relocation. You will be moving to a state where seeing BLUE LIVES MATTER and BLACK RIFLES MATTER bumper stickers abound.
This is false and exaggerated. Skip over this statement. This person is so negative towards the education system, the city etc. Actually you would be better off asking minorities this question that live in Florida and experience it. I believe largest house in Hillsborough County is by a non-white person. Also, shortly whites will be the minority in this county if they are not already. "white non-Hispanic".

Which is why I was quick to respond with suggestions in Central Florida based on my experience as a mixed (black Caribbean and white French) upper-middle class man. In Orlando, OP can easily find what he/she is looking for in a good half of Seminole County (Lake Mary/West Sanford especially,) Winter Park, and Baldwin Park. I feel right at home in those areas.
I lived in Lake County for a while, and still visit fairly often, and couldn't see myself ever living there again, in large part due to demographics not steering in the direction I am attracted to.

I will say, there ARE very, VERY few black families in south Tampa, so there is some truth to Sinatras' post.

I mean, why do you care that a black person is looking for an area where they can be around mostly other black people? White people don't generally want to be around too many---if ANY---black people ANYWAY. That's where the whole occurrence of WHITE FLIGHT comes from, and history and sociology (basically, FACTS) back that up. You're just gaslighting...

Please enlighten us with your list of the copious amounts of upper class black neighborhoods in Florida.
