how am I clinging to something...when I just posted the warning of heart problems?...

denounce....publicly declare to be wrong or evil...... inform against.

The FDA did neither of those things....the drugs are still being used in trials...and still used in hospitals...with the FDA's approval

The FDA issued a safety communication...for people taking those drugs....outside of a clinical study or hospital situation
...and also to remind health care professionals and patients of the risks involved

...advising them of the risk of heart problems

It's an advisory.....and reminder

...why the insults and personal attacks?

One more time...here's the FDA advisory....no where do they denounce anything

Your data suggests that less than 1% of Florida's population has (or died from) Coronavirus. Am I correct?

There has been a noticeable increase in testing in Florida and throughout the US since Thursday, so expect some discontinuity on the upside in official numbers of daily new cases.

Dade County, in conjunction with the University of Miami, has begun conducting statistically significant random antibody testing, more expansive on a per capita basis than the one recently conducted in New York State.

Partial results so far - corroborating those from several other similar testing studies in various parts of the world (China, Italy, UK, Germany, US including New York State) - in crude summary, suggest that you can take official case numbers from this past week and multiply them by 15-20 to have a statistically significant measure of people who have been exposed to the Wuhan virus, many of whom (some 80%) have been asymptomatic; in other words, they just brush off or live with the virus like most of us do with billions and trillions of microbes that we breath in and out and live inside of us everyday.

I am not sure if the results of these studies will be counted in the official case numbers, but either way expect case fatality rates to go down, or at least hopefully, as if some consolation in comparison to those who do suffer very adverse reactions.

For the moment, there is still around 30%-35% extra hospital capacity at least in southern Florida.

But these studies suggest that there are still a lot of asymptomatic people around who could potentially still infect vulnerable people.

On the other hand, I have not heard any information on how long people who test positive for the antibody could still be infectious. Days? Weeks? Months? Anyone with more information on that?

My gut feeling is that people who tested positive for the antibody can't be infectious forever.

Like more ventilators, more testing is great, but - then what? - still only single pieces of the puzzle.

Good Luck!

That's just Miami Metro....Miami Dade county

Jackson hospital is ground zero, they have 288 "special care" beds, and are operating at about 60%
...that would be about 173 patients

...but that includes all ICU...heart attacks, gun shots, accidents, etc

I can't find the stats on just CV

for all of Florida...

total cases since day 1............~30,000....... 0.13%...... 13/100th of 1 percent
total hosp since day 1............. ~5,000........ 0.025%.... 25/1000th of 1 percent
total deaths since day 1.......... ~1,000........ 0.005%..... 5/1000th of 1 percent

so for all of Florida 5/1000th of 1 percent of the population has died from CV..... 0.005%

way way less than 1%

Check out these numbers. The media attacks Gov Desantis over his handling of cov19.
While Gov Cuomo gets the media praise over his handling of cov19.

Population: Florida: 21,500,000 New York: 19,500,000

Coronavirus cases: FL: 38,828 NY: 337,421

Coronavirus deaths: FL: 1,600 NY: 26,365

Looks like we are doing great here in Florida.

The purpose of "media" is entertainment and advertising revenue.

Personally I follow the data and executive orders and pronouncements by my county executive and heads of the various communities that I participate in; I pay zero attention to mass media (except once in a while for laughs) and only a little bit to the governor.

I don't know if "great" is the word for it, but in terms of officially reported new cases, both Florida and Dade County peaked relatively low and early, on April 3rd, and the curve has been on a slow downward, albeit bumpy, trend since then, even as testing has expanded, and hospitals have never been overwhelmed.

We could argue whether the data are truth or lies, but that argument goes out either side of the same mouth.

Either way, lock-down has achieved precisely what it is designed to do.

At current pace of expansion in testing, my sense is that the objective by August, when schools are supposed to re-open, is anyone who wants an antibody and/or antigen test will be able to have one or both.

Dade County is still on lock-down, with limited easing of restrictions, while it seems Palm Beach County wants to lift them at a faster pace. They know better for themselves.

At any rate, do not let your guard down, be careful, take care of yourself and your immune system, and ...

Good Luck!
