We don't. We take people from Sumter every once in a while, and they just meet us in Hopkins at the edge of our service area.

Wow.. only once in a while? I would have thought folks in Sumter would be breaking down your door only because for them to go to CLT would be huge benefit considering they have to drive 30 plus minutes anyway to fly out of CAE.. Im not trying run CAE in the ground.. I just thought that since folks from Sumter have to travel anyway just to get to an airport.. then why not go to CLT utilizing your service

Actually, Florence is their closest airport at almost an hour. I guess they figure that if they're going to be in a car for that long, they may as well just drive the whole way. Don't really know.

Since it appears the airport isn't going to close, I decided to copy this update on airport traffic in this thread.

Now if we want to start a thread on an Airport that may CLOSE.. you have just identified one...LOL.. I actually like FLO. Where else can you arrive 15 minutes before the plane takes off and get right on.... Unfortunately, I believe that they are now down to one airline.. and it is fairly expensive to fly out of there now.. I think most people just go to MYR from there..

As I was reading this thread I received an email from Delta about their 10+ nonstop flights per week from CAE to LaGuardia.

And MYR isn't doing so hot either as far as the number of passengers flying in and out.

CLT has 24 direct flights to LaGuardia today. That's almost as many flights as CAE has today, total.

I wonder who they are losing out to???? Wilmington or maybe Charleston with the arrival of SWA? Or is tourism just down all together....

Yeah, I got that same Delta email. Then I checked prices and CLT was around $100 cheaper for the same dates as CAE.
