This is getting off topic (and I won't spend anymore time on this issue), but I thought John's Hopkins University in Baltimore had the best medical school in the country.

OK, I'm done!!!

Does that suggest greater economic importance?

To be fair South Jersey and Delaware were excluded from the Philadelphia data. And I realize people are tired of hearing but Philadlephias data is always going to be comprimised due to the fact that areas 15 miles away from the city do not get included in their metropolitan data. The state capital of NJ which is 15 miles from Philly isnt included in Philly's statistics.

Keep in mind that Boston being the state capital is also an advantage in this particular category.Thats not to take anything away from Boston but merely something to ponder.

You are kind of grasping at straws at this point, wouldnt you say?

Philadlephia metro 24% more populace than Boston

Philadlephia metro 20% more Fortune 500 companies than Boston.

Philadlephia (city only) 66% more Fortune 500 companies than Boston(city only).

No Philly has 25% more fortune 500 companies, its 12+3 3 is 1/4 of 12, so it is almost proportional how many Fortune 500 companies per person.
However this measure hurts Boston due to the fact Hostpitals, nor Univesities make substantial profit. Also due to the unusually large amount of start ups (due to many colleges) fortune 500 companies make up fairly little of Bostons economy.

Perhaps to you. I'd go with GDP, which is higher in Philly.

I'm not clear what the smiley face means at the end of your posted question? Are you gloating over something that might hold some importance to you? Or do you simply grin each time you pose a question?

Not even, Boston's output is significantly larger than that of Philadelphia.

They draw lines based on commuter patterns, so therefore Mecer County is not Part of The Philly area no matter how close it is.

It's called a mistake. Our federal government is known to make them every now and then.
