I witnessed an online "fight" recently. Someone wrote the contraction, "it's" instead of the correct possessive, "its." Half the posters in the comment section were absolutely convinced that the apostrophe made it possessive. There was simply no way they were going to believe that the apostrophe made it a contraction. "Everyone knows that the apostrophe means ownership!"

"It's so much fun to watch the dog chase its tail." I gave that as an example. People told me I was wrong.

Christians have standards and try to follow the of God and the writings of Jesus! The OP is trying to stir the pot to make this life style more acceptable to Guilt Christians to change there view.

You cannot educate the uneducated. The public school system had 12-13 years to attempt this, and failed. And you tried to do it on one post?

Industry term: copy editor. I have a friend who is a technical copy editor.
