...well, to be fair, there were a few Nazi sympathizers in Poland in the 1940s, so I suppose that there might be a "swatiski" symbol to be found in some Eastern European museum.

You have to read context surrounding the statement. It clearly say he almost blew a ref light causing him to almost hit the white truck if he had.
