That confusion over "marshall law", versus martial law brings to mind something that my mother experienced, many years ago.
Mom worked with a true Mrs. Malaprop, and that woman frequently spoke about the "martial problems" that her neighbors were experiencing. My mother just kept her mouth shut and enjoyed the ongoing entertainment that this woman was unknowingly providing.
"...I have to press and hold the Excelerator to get it to catch. I had the purge control valve replaced a few months ago. And my car started mourn normally for a while."
When her engine fails to start, I think that she will really start to mourn.
It's not really in line with the theme of the thread, but I do not know where else to share this jewel.
A local radio station ran a commercial today from an automobile dealer, who was advertising that it would lend money to anyone making $350 per week or more.
It followed up with the address of the dealership.
Then it followed that up with the helpful information that the dealership is located right next to the jail.

Makes me wonder who their target audience is.
In NJ, a few car dealers (Sansone comes to mind, for the benefit of New Jersey residents) have gone to jail for their felonious ways. Perhaps locating dealerships next to penal institutions is a good idea in case one of the convicted car dealers qualifies for a work release program.
"How does one become apart of the director of community and economic development?"
(I imagine a specialist would be needed... one with a sharp saw, perhaps?)
"I hope it's returned to it's owner."
(This is one of my biggest pet peeves. You hope it is returned to it is owner? Jeezum crow.)
"I saw an article recently about Giada and how she's become a kind of caricature of herself with her over annunciation of Italian words and her larger than life constant full-teeth smiling face." - poster on facebook who has confused "annunciation" with "enunciation."

Because I LIKE wine, okay? I like wine while doing collage. Is that soooo wrong?
