In this video he seers the steak then puts the cast iron pan in the oven. I don't have cast iron. Could I just seer it in a regular pan.
Well, let's see. If you could seer the steak, would it a vision of steak? If it's far away, would be a television of steak? Or does that require a Nostradamus? (& did he hang out in Paris, near the cathedral? Inquiring minds, doncha know.)
One apartment building I managed had a decorator and all the appliances and plumping fixtures were a robin egg blue...
Plumping fixtures? Plumping fixtures??? Why doesn't MY house have those???
Yes, yes! Richard Simmons of slimming fame always said the first thing you had to do was rip out the 'fridge, oven/microwave, freezer - the plumping fixtures. & truer words were never bespoke.

Ha ha! Well, right now my oven doesn't work and my fridge is on its last legs. No plumping for me!!
(all my appliances were new...20 years ago!)
No, I haven't been there. I would love to visit, though. I understand Pa's fiddle and Mary's organ are both there. Is it true the upstairs is off limits to visitors? I think Laura said it was a 10 room farmhouse. I have a plan of the first floor. And yes, I think Laura was only 4' 11".
Pa's fiddle is there (in the small museum a few yards from the house itself), but I think Mary's original organ is still in De Smet (a duplicate may be at Rocky Ridge - just can't remember). Visitors were able to go upstairs when I visited, but it's been many years ago.
When I visited Rocky Ridge, the caretaker/tour guide, Irene L., was a pleasant lady who had been friends with Laura and who had assisted her as she grew older, so she had lots of personal anecdotes to share. She was an ideal tour guide!
Anyway, one of my favorites I love the sound of birds twerking in the morning
*she meant tweeting
I think it would be scarier if she really meant twerking!
