Even though it is pretty, not too happy with the 4" of heavy, wet snow we've received so far!

Now the major debate with myself, shovel now and do it again later, or wait and do it all at once! I'll have another cup of coffee and think about it some more!

Updated February total: 1110mm - easily the wettest all-time month since records began in the early 1940s.
Lucky bastards!!!
Makes me want to weep even more as we, on the coast got only between 10-20 mm - some very terrible lowly totals indeed!
Glad to see this March has brought the opposite - highest since total in 11 years :-)

Chilly and raw outside, NE wind, sleet and snow expected tonight and tomorrow, winters last hurrah, I hope!

At least I'm south of Green Bay, north of there expecting 12-15" of snow! Where are you Wordsmith? You were wanting some snow!

1110mm?! In other words, an inch and a half of rain every single day over a whole month? I know evaporation rates must be super-high but that's just got to cause problems somewhere, right?

Here we've got the opposite problem - just 5.3mm so far this month on just two days (with no rain forecast soon), and 122.6mm so far with nearly a quarter of the year gone. We're a quarter down on last year, which wasn't exactly a wet start to the year itself. A drought at this time of year is hidden, everything is lush green, but unless we have substantial rain at the time of year we don't really want it then water restrictions and yellow grass is likely in July/August.

This total came with a 3 day period where they received 684.8 mm of rain (15th, 16th and 17th of Feb).

So nearly 27 inches in 3 days!!!

Rain fell on all but 5 days of the month alongside a very deliciously low sun total of 123 hrs: Darwin, NT - February 2011 - Daily Weather Observations (http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/201102/html/IDCJDW8014.201102.shtml - broken link)

2010/2011 summer (Dec, Jan and Feb) rain total: 2127mm and in terms of sunshine: 410 hrs. I would have been better off there instead of here during our awful dry, but luckily cloudy, February!

You'd last about one day there, and be on the next plane home!
I would not even entertain it for one minute.
What sun?!? And the fact that Darwin had one of it's coldest February days on record says it all aye!

Cold this a.m., looking out over 8" of snow and with a high in the 20's will not be melting very soon!

OK, I am ready for April!

I spilled yet another drink all over my workstation but managed to quickly mop it up before it blew up anything electronic and then smashed the glass onto the floor in anger, wish my temper didn't get the better of me so fast and that I wasn't such a clumsy ox.
