Looks like today will be another disappointment. It's nearly noon and the temp still hasn't even hit 18 C. It looks as though it will be a far cry from the 25 C forecasted... will be lucky to see 20 C at this rate.

Only Feb., but I am a little tired of shoveling. The piles at the end of my drive and along side are high getting to the point it is hard to throw the snow on top, at least 4 feet, some close to 5 feet.

A friend came and used his snow blower to widen the drive and help me out some but the storm last night took care of what we moved away! I'm on a corner, across the street is senior housing in a park like setting, but its up on a hill, very open and when the wind blows it all comes my way. This is what you get when you buy a house for the view out the front window! I do love the 7 flag poles!

Think Spring!

Yeah the piles are getting ridiculous here too. But that's a good thing (except for driving).

I'll think spring...in April after a couple more months of cold temperatures and battering storms.

Argh! The temp peaked a while ago at 18.1 C and is currently 16.8 C at 2:30 PM! Far below the 25 C forecast. The forecast also said there would be "periods of cloud". Well, 'periods' apparently means "all day long" and 'cloud' means "completely overcast". Unbelievable! The misery of this horrible climate never ceases to amaze me.

Yesterday I awoke to the news? of sleet, freezing rain and, new to me, freezing fog. I have never, ever, once in my long life heard a freezing fog warning. Something awful will fall to the ground this Saturday and again the following Tuesday...

Yes our state has had quite the winter this year. I'm loving it!

Absolute shambles of a day.

Crap temperatures, raining most of the day, strong winds (gusts over 100km/h / 62mph) all day and no electricity for half of the day.

Where is all this humidity coming from? Cold ocean to the south, arid desert to the north and west and mountains to the east seperating Melbourne from the only place that the humidity might come from. And yet it seems to get mid-20s dew points every other day!

Revolting sustained heat-wave for the whole week, high 30's since January 31st, and no day under 30C since January 28.
Not due to end until Monday, February 7.
Even Sydney by then would have had 7 days in a row above 30C!
Not in the same league as the February 2004 Heat Wave, but still horrible.
