And those met office averages do not seem accurate. It gives Ballypatrick forest an average high of 7.1c which seems way too high for me.
You see BP forest is in the 5.5 to 6.5c range.

Agreed. Plenty of unofficial stations record weird numbers. Unusual numbers need to be documented.

I recorded it on my station ages ago.
But if you want proof of local stations.
Ok so Ballykelly is right on the coast.
Low in that year = -13.3c
Low high in that year = -5.4c
Climate in BALLYKELLY in December 2010 - Historical weather records
as you can see most stations had a low of about 5f.

Nope it just seems that what I experience in winter does not back that up.

It was -8c here this winter. We quite clearly have a record low, far lower than -9c.
My record low is at least -15c.
