Very happy that yesterday afternoon saw a cloudburst over Bondi (light rain at my workplace in the city though) with extremely torrential rain falling, around 15mm fell in the space of 10 minutes according to local rain readings, AND wifey was kind enough to tape a clip of the rain - awesome to hear the roar of the rain .
Rained again this morning & overcast for the second day in a row - nice
Well it was damned expensive but I'm happy to have this new weather station now, as my old sensor without radiation shield have to be kept in shade permanently and was always reading way too low in the mornings and then too high in the afternoons.
Now the new station which has a proper shield and fan aspiration is reading much more realistic values with the lowest and highest temps occuring at much more the correct time, a more accurate numbers. The temperature on the over-sheltered cheapo sensor is now overtaking the new station as the sun comes around the west side of the building. And it will continue to rise even after 3 o clock when in reality the high temp was at 2 o clock.
Sunny start to May, if not a warm one: Buxton's had an average of 12.2 hours per day (49 hours 1st-4th). Of course, we will go on to continue in the same vain, with a monthly total of 378.2 hours. Likely?
