Indeed, I think they were discussing 25C+ uppers too and what temperatures they would bring to the UK if it ever occurred, and someone mentioned 40C.

I bet that was you that mentioned that 40c. And they actually did say that 40c would occur.

I did not notice anybody mentioning 40 degrees on netweather, highest somebody said was 36 degrees, if the 20 degree isotherm was over the UK.

Yes it was me, I actually stated it was going to reach 50C in Northen Ireland next week & 60C in Bognor...

And no, NO ONE stated that 40C would occur in the UK.
