Pretty much sums up today as well.

I'll definitely remember this spring for the cloudiness.

At bloody long last winds have finally switched from horrible sunny & dry westerlies to cloudy & wet and windy southerlies .
Heavy rain/showers/gale force southerlies (gusting up to 90-100km/hr) expected to lash us from now until tomorrow afternoon .

A nice mild day here today. It was 18 C / 65 F at 8 AM and remained around that temp until evening. Although it was overcast all day I didn't mind as it was very mild for this time of year and there was a brilliant sunset.

Happy to have just had a thunderstorm. It only lasted 15 minutes, but was right overhead.

Happy to see the grass a little greener today after the 14mm in thundery showers we had yesterday afternoon. Shame though that it couldn't have waited a few more days so that we could have posted some really impressively low spring rain totals. With the chilly weather (yesterday only got to 15C) the warmest spring ever is no longer guaranteed.

Well this 'ECL' certainly didn't disappoint .
A lot of heavy rain/showers had, with around 50mm falling, giving the lawns a bloody good drink & cleared the 'gathering' dust away. Winds gusted to 83km/hr and the maximum reached just 14C in the city - coldest May day in 11 years. A shop - not far from my place - had its awnings blown down by the gales.
Very welcome after a rather boring two weeks of sunny, cold and dry weather and it's currently looking to be our coldest May in, at least, 41 years.

I like the description of white cloud, is that a light high cloud?
Are the wind speeds maximum gusts or average speeds?

White cloud is just lighter cloud which doesn't look like it's capable of bringing rain. Not sure about the wind speeds, I think they are average speeds but perhaps only for part of the day? 15mph average wind speed sounds like a lot over a whole day. The BBC website forecasts are only a rough guide to be honest (I don't think there's much if any human input goes into them) but vaguely accurate for the next few days.
