if you like to wear 100 layers then yes, but that does not appeal to me.

-3c and snow like Helsinki is not that bad as long as highs are always warmer than -5c -10c?

Great day. Hit the road before the sun was up, downing an energy drink, beat rush hour traffic through the Philly area on 476 and went to the Poconos for some hiking. Drove down mountain roads with absolutely no traffic listening to Gordon Lightfoot. Got to the state park (Hickory Run) so early in the morning there were probably more bears in the whole park than humans. It was a clear, cool morning. Cool enough, in fact, for me to see my breath. Pretty sweet for the 30th day of July. Just got home. Got some cherry water ice from the nearest farmer's market. Got part of a leftover hoagie in the fridge along with some beer. Like I said, good day so far.
