Well in NI we cool down in august and to me summer is over once daylength goes before 9pm

I've been living in a lie all this time. Turku didn't hit -30C in 2003, only Helsinki. So the last time below -30C was in 1987. Subtropical Turku.

No, sorry, forget the earlier if you saw it. Yes, Helsinki Vantaa in 2003, Kaisaniemi not.

The -34.3C recorded in Kaisaniemi 1987 is the all time record. The February -30C was in 1966.

Summer is over on September 10. After that is just a steep downfall both in sunshine, temps and daylight.

But August first. Hope we break the record high. Jeez, it was recorded when Finland wasn't an independent country.
