Happy to see the banana plants pushing out new growth again. Even the frosts of the last couple of nights won't stop them, if the days are warm enough.

Well despite the awful heat and humidity I endured, I still managed to have a great day. Best one in quite some time.

You jinxed it you bar steward!

If I even so much as think there's a chance of a storm coming I try to forget the idea and do something entirely different and lo an behold the storm comes! If I concentrate on it and hope for it it never happens!

Sorry to keep mentioning it, but am absolutely loving the winter weather in Brisbane. So consistently mild to warm and loads of sunshine. I can never tire of this.

We are living in a "Queenslander" which is a classical style of housing. As a means of keeping them cool in summer, they are raised off the ground to help circulate the breeze. However they do get very chilly at night and we need heating on every night. However once the sun rises, it warms quickly.

Happy to have had 11 days of last month in warmish to warm conditions, nil rain and plenty of sun. Especially valued with the weather in the home country pretty "ordinary" since the return.

I'm glad you had a good winter break.

It also means you had 11 less days of winter back home and spring is a little bit closer.

I've tried that - hasn't worked, believe me.

Worked last year in September but this year, nope.
