It is way early and GFS has snow quite a bit further north than the Euro does. Guess now that it is January the southeast ridge has no influence on anything.

Still all rain down here.

Atlanta already has a major traffic/road problem. That kind of snow would paralyze them.

I guess they learned nothing and didn't buy more equipment/supplies from that snow event several years ago where everyone was stuck on the roads in the afternoon.

Why would they spend that money on something they might need "several years later"?

January 2014? I remember that. Even worse, they blamed the weathermen for not forecasting right as frustrated parents rushed to get their kids out of school. It was a mess.

You're right. People aren't going to fork over tax money for once in a decade storms.

We all like snow maps...

Here is what the latest GFS mode says for snow totals. (*This is not a forecast and WILL Change 4 times a day)

You can pretty much see the track of the storms. Clipper then Coastal

GFS kuchera has nearly 30"..... far out. But if verified would be an all time storm!

I think GF models that are out this early are for " clicks " on local TV. Almost NEVER live up to the numbers.

I'll go MD, even though it isn't on the list. It's my home state, and Garrett County can get some really outragerous localized snow events on the high ridges if everything sets up perfectly......
