I’m on vacation in St. Augustine, Florida, and it’s been pouring the rain for the past couple hours. Dew points were around 75F today, which is oppressively humid compared to what I normally experience at home. I think the high here today was around 87F before it started raining.

It’s been in the 60s back home even during the day. Yesterday, during the day time, southern WV was the coolest area in the Eastern US other than Maine.

Yup, warmer in Quebec than Florida right now. Current temps and map.

And another classic lake breeze effect (Sorry Hamilton)

One of the times Toronto is less impacted by the lake breeze than St. Catherines.. thanks to a NE wind instead of SE.

Ottawa, Montreal, Timmins, and Moosonee, meanwhile, from much further north, saw temperatures warmer than all those listed on this map.

Winds are from the South south of the Lake and from the East on the Lake. Check out Erie. 80s there but 60s across the Lake. Sounds like here when we get East or NE winds off the ocean.
Inland will be 80s while coast in 60s/70s.

Hartford and Bridgeport at the coast have same June temp Avg (68.5/68.7F)

It don't bother me until 110 heat index.

Was on the lake all day today. 98 degrees not a cloud in the sky. The cold front is coming in now though, a tornado warning just popped up.

Most impressive thing was San Francisco hit 92 today. The dry season is back. Oddly enough, LA has been spared, this heat wave is limited to northern CA. Sacramento will be 103 tomorrow.

Miami's summer weather is weak because it's the rainy season. Houston is more impressive for heat and humidity combos.

That being said, I wonder if the First Nations tribes are going for a dip in the icy water.

This was a perfect weekend in Austin. Hot and sunny with not a cloud in the sky Saturday nor Sunday until around 6 PM. 97 on Saturday and 98 on Sunday, dewpoints upper 60's so low enough to prevent cloud formation.

It's raining now and will be cool and rainy Mon-Wed. That means I don't have to turn on the sprinkler. Then it will be sunny and 90's by the weekend. I couldn't ask for anything more, rain during the week and sunny and hot on the weekend.

The lake temperature has (finally) warmed up. Lake Travis is now 83 degrees, perfect for soaking in all day. Last week was 76, week before 72, week before 70. A few 98 degree days will really warm it up fortunately.

It felt so lovely. Hoping we get some more 80s before September starts.
