Well, after the last couple days, I have to say I'd much rather have the upper 80s near 90 with dewpoints in the mid-50s we had a week and a half ago than this weeks upper 70s near 80 but dewpoints in the lower to middle 70s. Leave it to humidity to make 78 degrees feel worse than 90.

Agree! When that muggy heat was over us, I walked my dogs out first thing in the morning, temp was 71f, I've never felt such a miserable 71 degrees.

LKJ1988, it looks like your area is under a flood watch (or will be soon).

Are you getting excited for all this rain?

August should end up above normal and thus so will the three month summer period. Still have a feeling that we will have yet another year with below averag number of hot days (90F+).

August will determine if summer 2019 is below or above average here. June + July comes in at 0.6°C above average. June was 0.5°C below average and July was 1.2°C above average. August is looking to be 0.5-1.0°C below average so could be average or a little below overall.

Most notably though is that it's been a very wet summer in my part of England. 150% of the normal rainfall so far.

Let us pray that God will bless the eastern two thirds of the United States with a long warm fall and at the very least not a particularly harsh winter season this year
