The grass was turning brown here, but then we got a lot of rain at the end of August that greened it back up. I don't like how all the grass turns brown here in winter, whereas most grass in NC stays green then.

There was a huge thunderstorm in the Puget Sound on Saturday night, the most intense in decades. Over 2000 lightning strikes were recorded, with 200 strikes in the Seattle area alone, along with torrential rain! Here's a map of the strikes:

To put into perspective how rare this is, I had only heard a total of 4-5 thunderclaps in the entire past five years living in this area. During this storm, which I caught on Whidbey Island northwest of Seattle, I heard at least a dozen that were ear-splittingly loud, with countless more rumbles. It was an incredible show.

I noticed that the Washington/Cal game had a long weather delay on Saturday. Here in the Eastern time zone, I got to watch a live football game until after 4AM, which I've never done before.

Talk about dry, almost no rain at all this month so far for many places with a another record hot 96f in Tampa Tuse. I knew that cane would dry us out for at least 10 days.

You’re about to get hit by a tropical storm or hurricane in the next 7 to 10 days, so quit complaining about the lack of rain in your area

I already had some arm chair expert tell me i was gonna get hit my CAT1. How did that work out? I want a full CAT5 with gust 220mph+ so i pray you are right. These storms know i want them to come and they miss me like the rain does to get me upset. If anything becomes of that easterly wave and i mean IF, it will be once it is west of me and move away from me like they always do.

Record highs for this summer in Southeastern Turkey occured on 13th August.

District municipalites near the syria border got fried due to the low elevation ( provincial capitals are located at higher elevation in the region).

Even though Cizre gets hottest summer highs on average, Kızıltepe and Nusaybin hot higher record highs this summer. Kızıltepe had the hottest high this summer with 47.7°C, which happened on 13th August.
