Fairview, NC at the top of the list for ice. Bad place to get ice considering they have some of the highest mountains east of the Mississippi around Asheville/Fairview.

1:45-5:45pmEST loop. I see 6-9" reports around D.C now and looks like some more still around. They might reach the foot mark in DC!

Has it been snowing for 30hrs in DC???

No real melting till Wednesday and Friday looks like. Those lows will form ice crystals and keep the snow around longer.

In my part of southwest Virginia, we got nearly nothing. Asheville got some, but it wasn't as bad as predicted earlier in the week. We were on the true southern edge of all this.

So here's my update.

It snowed continuously for over 33 hours where I live, from around 1PM on Friday to somewhere between 10PM and 11:30PM on Saturday.

I measured 4.5 inches.

KCI airport, the official station, measured 4.3.

Lovely snow hole we've got there:

Snow hole? The massive heat source with the power plant on the Missouri River is directly upwind from the area. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Lol. Do you not see the massive low-snow area extending eastward out of Kansas? I'm in the end of that. I guarantee the power plant has nothing to do with it. In fact, maybe all the water vapor coming out of it would add to the snow. It snowed for 33 hours here. We should have had a foot, we just...didn't. Somehow. That's just the way storms are.
