No atmosphere there?! . lol. just mentioning the important level of 5000'. Was just about to post it...

A look at the current temps at 5000' (850mb) and the radar.

It will not snow unless its freezing at this level (unless you're above 3000').

What you see is what you get with the location of that freezing line. The only time it will push south more is when the storm moves away.

Oklahoma City riding that line right now and not sure if any precip will even get there.

Little Rock will be rain until tomorrow evening when the storm passes and this level cools to freezing. Should change to snow there.

Such a flat look. Usually you see cold air digging south. Not the entire below freezing air mass West to East like this and that far south. Cold airmass over the Northeast.

Here are the 850mb anomalies this morning..

Here's a WTF moment. Sometimes you have to wonder who is making the map and who actually allows it to be published.

Ya I think its an automated product when winter weather watch/warning/advisories are issues but it obviously needs some work lol!! Covering elevations of around 600ft to just over 6,600ft.

Looking at the latest models. I got less impressed even for Virginias and North Carolina. Ugh.

They may have to scale back on snow totals everywhere. This might only be interesting for the higher elevation areas now. (above 2000' at least)

I don't know... lets see what happens.

I'm thinking here in Raleigh a few inches of snow washed away by rain, maybe some black ice Monday morning.

It'll be interesting to see how much rain I get from this. Forecast calls for temps here to be in the 40s this weekend, 50s closer to the coast. Monday in particular is looking cold for much of the south Atlantic. I'll probably be in the low 40s around 2PM with drizzle.

We are now under a winter storm warning. It will be interesting to see what we get. I am west of I85. I'm hoping for some snow after all this and a work from home day on Monday.

We are now back under a winter storm warning. Don't think it will be too bad, but why did they remove the winter storm warning and then put us back under it.?

Nothing burger outside the hills but I guess we shouldnt forget 2-3" can be a big deal for some. Also, can overproduce too. Southern VA may do well actually. Wonder if Norfolk will get any
