The wind storm that we had yesterday morning was truly powerful. I have had a portable basketball hoop in front of my house for many years (the kind where you put sand in the base and put it by the curb). The wind blew the thing down sometime yesterday morning! And not just ours - I've counted numerous other downed basketball hoops in our vicinity. Not even the hurricanes in 2011 and 2012 could do that!

Another one added to my list. Rain is about done now. Maybe with any luck one more chunk of upper level energy over TX can give us another shot at rain Wends...

I don’t know how much longer this unseasonably cold weather is really going to last, but I’ve become weary about the fact that winter might extend beyond the spring equinox yet again this year, here’s to hoping that at least it isn’t going to snow in April again.

We had a little bit of glazing in K.C. overnight. A little goes a long way toward creating chaos unfortunately. We're still targeting Friday and Sunday for snow and all of next week for "Cold for January" temperatures.

Well 61F with 60F dewpoint. Misty and damp outside. High of 76F under partial clearing expected. Great day!

Tomorrow rainy in the 50's. Then 2 days in the 70's but what worries me is 29F is expected Sunday night. That would be disastrous for my hibiscus that I just planted. Good thing it has a year long warranty, I may use it.

Well Sonoma County was the winner in the rain category. 20" in 48 hours. Man the Northern California rainy season really got in on the "atmospheric river" or "pineapple express" coming from Hawaii.

https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/02/...out-15-a-year/

Other North Bay locations had impressive totals like Santa Rosa at 8.73" but South Bay locations had meager amounts. SF only had 0.87" and San Jose 0.16". The rain was "trained" right on Sonoma County it seems.
