I saw...... That stuck High in the Atlantic wreaking havoc in Mid Atlantic. Some Rivers & brooks are record levels. Streets are flooding in some areas.
For here..... 8th (EIGHTH) overcast morning in a row. (Since May 12th)
Only 7hrs of sun in last 180hrs here in SW CT. (SEVEN)
And here comes the rain again.
3:30-7:30am loop.
Luckily we have been north of most of it, except for today,
by tomorrow afternoon will be back to sunshine.
It's been raining on and off a lot the past three days. We pickd up 1.54" of rain by last night, but we've probably gotten another half inch today. I'm liking all this rain; when I go to Oklahoma I miss the stretches of rainy weather we get back here. I also like cloudy weather, so I don't mind that I've hardly seen the sun since I got here Tuesday night.
All this southern flow and no warmth?? Is the sun that weak?
Looks like a rain break in couple hours!
Loop last 4 hrs. Temps are in the 50s this afternoon from Philly all over CT and up to Boston.
What's crazy is that there's a 586dm heights over the area. That supposed to mean hot! So are the clouds just blocking the weak sun? Little solar radiation to warm the surface?? Are the mid level temps just unable to warm up?
Here's the upper height anomaly today. See? Well above normal upper heights but the surface is well below normal thanks to the clouds and rain.
That Big Dry High over the Atlantic just sitting there for days on end.
Drought in SouthWest, U.S they can't buy rain
Long fetch Moisture plume from Caribbean to Canada
I can't buy rain also while just 20 miles inland they have had 8"+.
