Wouldn’t surprise me at all if the spring of 2018 makes the top 10 coldest ever in Indianapolis, I don’t think I have EVER experienced snow on the ground in April before, and looking at records, the last time there was snow on the ground in April was back in 1982, so it has been the snowiest April in 36 years in Indianapolis.
Not for my area. March was a little below normal and very dry. So far this month we are at near normal rainfall as of today since i got .80". Ever since i got that Solar wedge it has been cloudy and i got a Lunt 60mm Solar scope coming and more rain is coming just after i get the scope. That is one way to make it rain. Temps so far this month have not been crazy hot. But hot and dry May is coming and i hope we don't get a repete of May 1995 when we broke records the first part of May with highs in the upper 90's.

I will have to look back on my records and see how dry that summer was for my area. I remember Jan thru March being warm of 09 and the fall and early winter being warm and then BOOM we had 3 months of highs in the 40's and 50's starting Jan 1st 2010.

Too hot, too cold...common complaints. Some people are never happy. The people I heat complaining about the cold in the winter, are the exact same people I heat complain about the heat in the summer.

Many places in the upper Midwest and northern Plains seem to be having their coldest start to April on record. Here in Oklahoma we're only having our fourth coldest start to the month on record, but that's still impressive.
Other than 1, 7, and 8 it hasn't been too cold tho. At this point our average hi is 70 so even below normal weather isn't usually too cold.

Spring progress in Lower Bucks County PA - taken yesterday April 10. Despite the chilly weather the buds are still making steady progress and the grass is starting to grow in spots. All trees still completely bare though. It'll be interesting to see this same spot after the brief surge of upper 70s this Friday and Saturday

Nother spoke of upper level energy sometime around Mid nite gave me another .60" of rain. That solar wedge i bought really did the trick on the clouds and rain.

Forecast Max temps for Friday and Sunday. Some areas will be in the 60s and 70s then struggle past 40s 48hr later. A backdoor cold front comes in on Saturday but typically doesn't go south of Philly.

Lets see if NYC or Newark can hit 80° Friday. It's been since October 10th for NYC
