25° this morning, front has definitely passed through. The wind is still blowing, albeit not like last night. Headed for a high of 39° today, which is average for today .

Wow, my low was 50°-ish. Dreading the transition to winter today/tomorrow.

You'll have to keep us posted on how cold you get. It looks like the core of the cold will be more inland (doesn't look like I'll be above freezing all weekend), but I know it's not fun for those that don't like cold weather.

Unusually dry pattern for West Coast in December. Even Portland and Seattle are dry, but without the cold temps that often accompany their winter dryness. Low-to-mid 60s here in the Bay Area over the next week with lots of sun and zero rain chances.

So California is dry again this winter, even Seattle is getting a dry week and a half. Danger of a similar setup as 2013-15. Ridiculously Resilient Ridge is back! Partly responsible for California's worst drought; and the coldest winter month [or close to it] in the Northeast in at least 100 years. Southern California is in flames again

Not just that, but all models point to this cold lasting all the way thru to December into early January. Will just keep getting colder and colder too. This may make 2014 look like a picnic. Reminds me of the way winters were in the 1980's. Wall to wall cold.

We have seen this now winter after winter with very brief interludes. I swear eastern North America is the only region of the globe that seems to get colder winters every couple years. Every where else seems to get them far and few between now. Climate fail.

And I read the whole article, and as I have always said, the east is pre-disposed to troughs in winter due to the mountains in the west.
