Instead of guessing for one storm, who do you think will have the most snow for the month of March this year?

I will update this thread for each storm that comes. Yes, I said "each". There's more than one and it starts this Friday.

Here's the latest snow totals per model update FOR THIS WEEKEND ONLY:

GFS: PA the Bullseye

Canadian - 2 distinct waves. Friday and Saturday. NY bullseye on Friday. SouthEast Virginia on Saturday

Euro - Southern Ohio, West Virginia into southern NJ Bullseye

5 days away and forecasters are trying to figure out which model has the better idea. Your forecasts are most likely changing multiple times a day now.

I can't believe we're tracking a snowstorm again.

Wow, 10 inches would be our biggest storm of the season. That's some crazy numbers, still far off though.

I wont bore you with model talk but this is the 00zEuro EPS (not the regular Operational)

Weak with qpf for Friday the 10th wave and stays south with the storm exits North Carolina. Snow showers for West Virginia, DC into South Jersey.

Then Wow for Sunday March 12th. Comes from PacNW, Gulf Interaction, exits Del Marva and starts blowing up off the coast. Cold enough for snow from Richmond to Albany.

Here's the snow totals from that update. 10"+ from WV, Northern VA, DC, Philly, Atlantic City, Nantucket. 3-10" Boston back to Pittsburgh. Misses Chicago, what else is new this past winter?. lol

NWS Philly is on it. 2 different storms coming this weekend.

Quote:
National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ
611 AM EST Mon Mar 6 2017

Thursday night...A period of rain possible along yet another
developing cold front. Small chc of snow or ice in eastern pa
and n1/2 NJ.

Friday...Considerable cloudiness early (chance of showers).
Considerable uncertainty but we opted for the 06z/6 GEFS
northern track across NYS, not the colder 00z and 06z/6 op GFS
across the Delmarva.

Saturday...Becoming cloudy. Snow, ice and chilly rain at night
from north to south. Confidence: above average both on an event
and also a wintry event but details remain to be determined and
it could still run a warmer scenario.

Sunday...Remains of any pcpn ending during the morning otherwise
mostly cloudy with a cold northerly flow. Note: record cold may
follow
.
Appears that there may be susceptible record lows for
Monday the 13th. Records are; Reading 16-1989, Allentown
12-1926, Wilmington 17-1896

If there's fresh snow on ground by Sunday record cold will happen for sure..

all of them seem consistently to the south hitting the Mid Atlantic rather than New England

This run would give Chicago nearly 10"

Models hinting at winter blast. Lot's of snow. I see parallels with Mar 1930. That Feb was also VERY mild followed by late March blizzard in Chicago dropping over 22" on Midway on the 25th-26th.
