New Euro12z goes south from previous 00z run for Sat-Sun storm. Richmond and DC get hammered with snow while NYC gets only a few flakes.

because it's south more Lexington Kentucky gets involved in the snow swath now with 3-5". Chicago gets screwed

Fun Fun. What will the next updates say? Forecasters are watching closely!

Been that way all winter. Why would this change in the Spring?

lol. I hear ya. Maybe the pattern is ready to change for you. Better late then never I guess.

NAVGEM another model out there but really not as great as the others. Point is... IT ALSO has the storm.

It's north with the storm.

This frame is for Saturday night. All that above the thick blue line is snow. Frame before this (Saturday) give Chicago & Indianapolis snow.

Whoever voted Raleigh doesn't understand climatology! Though I know anything can happen... this storm reminds me of early january... only difference is I'm now 200 miles from the southern edge of the real snow versus the heart of it last time. Based on how that storm went I think it trends nw so Philly seems reasonable to get clobbered...

This is all starts with a shortwave trough that crashes Washington state thursday, that's when we find out.

Yup, I haven't even back tracked it to see where this energy is right now. I would think over the Pacific somewhere and Arctic where there is little data for Models to injest. But they did latch onto the idea even without good data.

I doubt Raleigh will get any snow from this. I'm thinking Philly is in the crosshairs. By Wednesday evening we'll know much better

If the Polar Vortex isn't as strong or come as far south in Canada, then it will trend north more in coming days

Norht of NYC needs to ask themselves do they want Snow and Cold or Frigid and Dry.

I'm not north of NYC but if that was a choice for me, I'd pick frigid and dry. You don't have to shovel frigid.

Was thinking about him before you posted. Won't spoil the video for you but it's a good one! He goes all the way out to the Pacific to show you where the energy is and holy crap is all I can say! Won't say anymore...
