If latest run of GFS means anything this month is a top 5 coldest march... so many trees here leafed out no clue how they will handle next few days....

Record breaking month in Spain. Again!

Just a few days ago Alicante reached the European maximum temperature of March (34.8ºC). Today Alicante broken the rain record of the wettest March on record (just for the city of Alicante this time).

Whole month record in one day!! With 136mm/5.35in. That's almost 50% of their yearly average (277mm/10.9in). Floodings on the city and important floodings in some passages/tunnels.

Wow. They're certainly having a wild March.

Its crazy how cold NC can get even well into March. United States south of the Mason Dixon line has some wild temperature swings, 70s and 80s followed by 20s and 30s

The high today was 56F, a bit cooler than predicted, and it stayed mostly overcast with light rain during afternoon. This was also the first high below 60F since Feb 4th.

NWS is forecasting a low of 38F tonight.

It's not that bad really... most of the time... as evidenced by the records, this late and this long is not common of course , don't think 2014 even had a stretch like this but I will check. Coldest high in forecast is in low 40s... I'm more worried about that hard freeze.

Average for this date:62/39

Record high-88
Record low-20
Record low max- 36
Record high low-62

As you can see mid March is fairly stable with a record low only 19 degrees below normal. Wonder if that trend holds to the north.
