Of course, Louisiana is left out... Forecast low of 39F tonight. But the cold over-achieved last night, as it ended up getting down to 34F.

We had a low of 25F on March 26, 2013!

Wind is calm in your area, so it surely is likely it could overachieve. Don't expect a freeze, though. Core of the blast is focused farther east this time unlike January.

This needs to be the pattern for all Decembers from now on.

That was a pretty epic cold snap, if the same cold snap had occurred in January instead of almost April we could have gotten into the low 30s or even upper 20s.

We're still a good 2 weeks away from our average last freeze date. The forecast is filled with freezing nights, it actually looks worse than any point during winter.

This cold is really starting to bother me. I've been very patient, I haven't forgotten about our mild winter, but it's getting kind of ridiculous. There's nothing nice about having highs cooler than your average low.

Wow the barometer reached 979mb at Islip today. Dead center of the low pressure I think. Maybe that explains why I was feeling kind of uncomfortable all day? Maybe not. In any case I don't think I've seen it that low since Sandy probably

All I got was a bunch of cold rain after 1 hour of snow. Just made it heavy - and a pain in the ass to shovel.

Looks like our heat wave is only going to last through Mon or Tues. On Tuesday, a trough is going to move into California and is bringing rain with it, and is cooling us from the low 90's F/low to mid 30's C Mon to the mid 80's F/upper 20's C Tue. I imagine we'll be at or below normal by Wednesday if it pushes through here. It is going to cool most of the LA Area to the low to mid 60's F/upper 10's C with rain on Tuesday
