Current spell of winter-like weather to subside next week | WGN-TV

Even Miami will see a "cool" spell Lol

Bastardi says pattern won't settle into warmer regime until first week of April. He also said that this May will be very warm in eastern CONUS

If this lasts into April that would be scary. Six straight below average Aprils coming? Third record cold March in four years?

Wow. March snow in the Pee Dee River basin of South Carolina. Incredibly rare. Wilmington looks like it's getting it too.

Currently 50 F here, and expected to stay at that throughout the day.

A low of 27 F is now showing up in my 10 day forecast. Incredible!

I'm jealous.

I wish we could get a freeze, but NWS doesn't show any lows below 41F in the forecast...

We still haven't had a freeze since January 9th.

For those in the Eastern 2/3rds of the US, I saw this coming. You can't stay above average forever to the anomalies you were. The bill has to be paid eventually so to speak. For example, we "paid" last February's bill (3rd warmest on record) in May.

Anyways, seems we fast forwarded from February to May here, skipping March and April entirely.

NWS 7 day shows upper 80's F (low 30's C) today and then low to mid 90's For (low to mid 30's C) the rest of the 7 day.

-6° C in NYC right now. And I seriously thought it was immune from this crap in mid-March, I mean I expected this weather from Upstate New York, but I really thought the city would be different. I guess I thought wrong. Spring Break needs to come already

I can see why you left New York for Arizona. Apparently Arizona seldom if ever gets very cold weather and almost certainly never gets the prolonged severe cold that the areas east of the Rockies get. I guess this global climate change really also favors Phoenix and other western cities over cities in the eastern 2/3 of the country

The west , especially southwest, is due some cold. Yall always avoid any serious cold anomalies... seems yall are only part of country left that hasn't seen deep cold anomalies in years (monthly average). Correct me if I'm wrong but that's just my observation over past few years, and no last January doesn't count, was not anything special for yall I don't think.

I love a good spell of wintry weather in March and this year is proving to be no disappointment.

Got a couple inches of snow on Friday and it hasn't melted due to the freezing temperatures. Yesterday's high and low were 25 F/14 F (-4 C/-10 C) and it looks like this morning's low was 11 F/-12 C. Only 21 F/-6 C at 11:30AM. Not expected to rise above freezing again.

National Weather Service is calling for 6-12 inches/15-30 cm of snow Tuesday. Maybe this will end up being one of the coldest and snowiest months of the season? Hopefully there won't be a warm up near the end of the month that will ruin it.
